Unvented Cylinders

Pullin evolution unvented cylinders offer mains pressure water heating and are available in capacities from 100 to 300 litres, in both Direct and Indirect models.

They are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel and offer high levels of corrosion resistance for a long life. The design of the primary coil and cold-water controls gives fast re-heat and good flow rates. Pullin Evolution cylinders provide mains pressure showering and are suitable for use in both new build and refurbishment schemes and for domestic or commercial applications.

The cylinders have 50mm of foam insulation to give improved insulation standards. Outer casings are finished in white Plastisol with white high impact thermoplastic moulded top and bottom covers.

UK MANUFACTURED AND TESTED
Pullin Evolution cylinders are manufactured in the UK in an ISO 9001:2000 factory with each unit being pressure tested to 15 bar to ensure maximum safety. All Pullin Evolution units have integrated thermostatic controls and thermal cut outs for both direct and indirect heating. A factory fitted temperature and pressure relief valve provides a further level of thermal safety.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS
In order to give easy access to the cylinder during installation all of the plumbing and electrical connections are located at the front of the unit. In addition the electrical connections are made to an integrated wiring centre which allows for a neater and simpler installation. Plumbing connections are 22mm compression.
‘COIL IN COIL’ TECHNOLOGY – INDIRECT UNITS
The Pullin Evolution heat exchanger has a ‘coil in coil’ design which allows for a fast re-heat when water is used. Situated at the base of the unit, the heat exchanger ensures nearly all of the water is heated.
COLD WATER CONTROLS
Each unit is fitted with a cold-water control set which incorporates a pressure reducing valve and strainer, expansion relief valve and check valve. By incorporating three components into one installation time is reduced and the flow rate is improved across a range of inlet pressures.
GUARANTEE
Pullin Evolution units come with a 10-year parts guarantee for the cylinder and 2 years parts guarantee on the expansion vessel and all other valves and fittings.

Solar Cylinders

Pullin Evolution Solar cylinders have been designed for use with a variety of UK solar systems and offer all the same features as the standard Pullin Evolution cylinders but with the additional benefit of lower running costs. The range includes 190, 210, 250 and 300 litre models in both direct and indirect versions.

In order to ensure maximum heat gain each cylinder is fitted with a solar coil which has been designed specifically for use with solar systems.

WHICH SOLAR UNIT TO USE

The choice of capacity for traditional cylinders is based on the hot water requirements of the dwelling. With solar cylinders the usable hot water will vary due to a number of factors such as siting of solar panels, time of year and weather conditions. For this reason, when choosing a solar cylinder you should ensure that sufficient usable hot water will be available during winter months where solar gain is at its lowest. For example a non-solar dwelling of 3 inhabitants with a bath and a shower would normally require a 145 litre indirect cylinder. However, in line with the ClearSkies* recommendation, at least 30% of the cylinder capacity must be dedicated to solar, therefore the same dwelling with a solar system would require a 210 litre indirect solar cylinder which would provide 143 litres of hot water during periods where there is little or no solar gain. For guidance please refer to the table below. Some applications may require larger water quantities or higher recovery rates, therefore it is important to calculate the hot water requirement before selecting the cylinder capacity.

† For high demand direct auxiliary heating applications and other commercial uses, cylinders can be linked to provide larger capacity output.

Figures are for guidance only and are based on BS6700 recommendations.
BS6700 gives recommendations for water supply for domestic use. Some applications may require larger water quantities or higher recovery rates and so should be individually calculated to ensure the correct size unit is selected. Actual usage requirements should be assessed in selecting the correct cylinder.
