Vehicle installations are backed by our nation-wide fleet of service and repair engineers running the latest GPS Fleet Management systems. |
|
Heating Products |
| With products ranging from 40, 000 to 300,000 Btu/h the GAH Thermecon range of oil fired boilers offer the ultimate choice for new and replacement boilers. Thermecon's comprehensive Select & Option design ensures flexibility of siting and is further enhanced by the extensive new multi-choice range of balanced flues. Quality, reliability, efficiency and quiet operation are standard. |
|
Water Control |
| The unique Dualstream design (patent app no. 9905894.3) provides enhanced balanced mains pressure hot and cold water supplies throughout, without the need of expensive booster pumps and loft storage tanks. |
|
Water Softeners |
| GAH Softstream offer a full range of compact, fully automatic water softeners which will descale your existing system, prevent new scale from forming and start saving you money from the moment it is installed. |
The next generation of unvented cylinders
The Dualstream system by GAH utilises all the benefits of traditional unvented cylinders taking performance
to another level, transforming both new and existing plumbing systems, delivering a truly outstanding performance.
Dualstream will provide a substantial increase in water volume to both hot and cold outlets within
the building. Designed to work at very low flow rates (5LPM) and can be adjusted to operate evenif the mains
water pressure is reduced.
|
Why install Dualstream over conventional unvented systems? |
|
|
|
For many years domestic plumbing practices in the United Kingdom have relied on cold storage tanks in the loft and a hot water cylinder.
Unvented hot water cylinders have been approved and installed since the late 1980s and have many benefits to the end user, specifiers, developers and installers.
-
True power shower performance without the pump
-
No tanks in the loft, no risk of water stagnation and Legionella
-
No risk of frost damage to pipework and tank filling noise
-
Simple plumbing design uses less pipework, saving time and money
-
Wholesome water to all cold taps
-
Mains pressure giving good shower flow and force, no shower pumps
-
Balance hot and cold water supply pressures giving wider choice of taps and mixers
-
Faster recovery rates compared to older cylinders
-
Will work at very low flow rates (5LPM)
-
Dualstream utilises Green Technology
-
Full design and technical support available via your chosen merchant
-
Two or more models can be installed in parallel for greater volume demand, applications such as health clubs, hotels, sports, and social clubs
-
Our systems once installed, are supported by a 2 year guarantee on the accumulator and electrical controls and 10 year manufacturers guarantee on the cylinder tank
The Dualstream system has many applications and can be used for three of four storey town houses and flats with poor pressure and volume problems, exaggerated by the building height.
A normal solution would be to use break tanks and booster sets to ensure adequate volume and pressure, this can be expensive and of course chlorination is an ongoing expense, and pump noise and running costs have to be considered.

About Dualstream
|
So how does the Dualstream system work? |
|
|
/SPAN> |
The Dualstream utilises all the benefits of traditional unvented cylinders with standard controls; temperature/pressure relief valve, expansion relief valve and pressure reducing valve set at 3.5 bar.
The system also uses an accumulator vessel, this stores mains water at the main pressure in a special butyl diaphragm, and is the driving force to the hot/cold supplies. The accumulator as shown below can be installed in two ways, option 'A' or 'B'. Option 'A' requires an accessory pack containing pressure reducing valve, expansion vessel and bracket, available form GAH at additional cost and should be ordered with the system.
The water pressure is balanced by air pressure between the accumulator wall and diaphragm. When any tap or shower is turned on, the stored water from the accumulator will supplement water from the incoming main.
If the accumulator is sized correctly, it will allow any number of baths or showers to be used simultaneously, irrespective of the incoming main flow rate and will function even if the mains are turned off, regardless of the mains water pressure. Dualstream systems can be sited close together or remote from each other offering flexibility in installation. |
|
| Each Dualstream system is supplied with a comprehensive illustrated manual, which takes you through the installation process.
To speed up installation time each Dualstream system has a factory fitted copper framework including the following components: Combination valve (3.5 bar pre-set pressure reducing valve), line strainer, check valve and expansion vessel connection point.
The framework includes expansion valve discharge to the tundish linked to the discharge pipe form the 1/2" temperature and pressure relief valve.
The 3kw immersion heater is fitted (indirect models only) complete with regulation thermostat, dual pole thermal cut out,
(2.3kw immersion heaters on direct models). ProTech anti corrosion systems o models up to 300 ltr. A two port motorised valve
supplied to be installed on a 'S' plan system (indirect models only). In addition all Dualstream systems are supplied with one 22mm
double check valve and three 22mm full bore lever valves.
Choosing Your System
| Choosing your Dualstream system |
|
To obtain the very best performance from your Dualstream system the accumulator must be sized correctly, as it is the driving force supplying hot and cold similtaneous demand to the building.
The accumulator will hold approximately half its total volume and we would recommend a recovery time of 15 minutes, this will depend on the flow rate from the main supply, which can vary.
When choosing your Dualstream, consider the following:
|
-
Mains flow rate and static pressure
-
House type and number of occupants
-
Typical daily water usage
-
Number of bathrooms/ensuite/showers
-
Other water usage hot or cold |
